Description:
The Engineer will be part of SEEDS field team engaged in construction of schools and shelters in Rudraprayag and Chamoli districts of Uttarakhand.
The Engineer will work under SEEDS Recovery department based in Head Office and closely with the project manager in Uttarakhand for the day-to-day management of construction at sites. She/He will have to do site supervision and maintain quality of construction work ensuring accountability throughout the construction.
The engineer will also ensure that the construction standards are followed in all the works, and the implementation is environmentally sustainable and functional.
Act as day-to-day managers on a construction site
Site supervision and quality control of the work at site
The role also involves surveying, setting out at sites ensuring the accuracy in construction
Develop construction specifications, scope of work, cost estimates, time schedules and bills of the works
Ensuring that the work is executed within suggested timeline and budget
Write daily/weekly construction reports
Prepare presentations; make presentation to management
Work with construction team to resolve any outstanding issue recommending best practices
Material and labor management at sites
Education:
Creative graduate/Diploma holder in Civil Engineering who has experience and knowledge of construction methods and activities and is capable of working well within a team environment with at least 2 years work experience.
Other key skills include:
Ability to think methodically, plan and manage projects
Ability to maintain an overview of entire project while continuing to attend to technicalities in detail
Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
Negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills combined with the ability to delegate
Proactively identify potential problems in the field; develop alternatives; arrive at optimum solution, means to mitigate problems
Team Player, self-confident, hardworking and capable of working in different scenarios
